Our association is actively preparing 2019, the seventh edition of the festival schedules the opening days during the second week of May.
Even if the majority of the exhibitions should be located again in the capital, including the Mudam, Casino Forum for Contemporary Art, MnHA and Cercle-Cité, the cities of Dudelange, Ettelbruck and Clervaux are expected to be partners again. We are hopeful to have with us, as in the past, the Arsenal exhibition space in Metz and we are considering the possibility to have the Centre Pompidou as partner. For the time being, nothing is signed because there are still too many unknowns : there will be a new director at Mudam, Mrs Daniele Igniti of the City of Dudelange will retire, she who has carried at arm’s length an impressive set of initiatives in Dudelange and especially at the Nei Liicht gallery. We will see.
We hope to have again on board on a larger scale the National Library, the National Archives and the Carré-Rotondes exhibition space or the Architects’ Foundation (LUCA).
On the side of private galleries, the situation looks grim with the closure of Wildproject and Sofronis. But we will certainly meet again the regulars like Clairefontaine Gallery and Nosbaum & Reding.
Let’s also mention our faithful sponsor the law firm Arendt & amp; Medernach which has proved over the years to be a reliable supporter. The firm provides substantial assistance not to mention the Arendt & amp; Medernach award for the European Month of Photography.
In principle, we also expect the participation of financial institutions such as Banque de Luxembourg or Deutsche Bank, as has been the case in the past for some previous editions.
As far as our internationa partners are concerned, things seem to run smooth again and the next meeting of all eight cities is scheduled in Vienna end of January. Main topic for a common theme to be discussed is the human body in contemporary photography.
